Love Bugs - Show your LOVE for BUGS!!  Wear something buggy or bring in artwork of a bug you LOVE on any Saturday in the month of February!  If you do, you will receive a $2 off regular admission.

BUGS Art Show Opening - View the new exhibition of art inspired by arthropods.  Meet the artists, but one-of-a-kind art, enjoy light snacks and live music.  Ages 18 and up event.

BUGS Art Show

Bug-inspired art created by local artists will be displayed throughout the museum.  Sculptures, photographs, mixed-media, drawings, jewelry, etc.  Stop by and get inspired!  Exhibit will be on display all month.

Learn The Art of Ukrainian Egg Decorating

This unique workshop is an opportunity to learn the process fo creating Ukrainian eggs.  This tutorial will cover the history and traditions surrounding Pysanky, how to make your own egg, and an independant practice session.  The instructor will provide a variety of eggs, many hard-to-find traditional and non-traditional colored dyes and tools.  Bring a smock or old shirt and an egg carton to take home your decorative egg. 


Ages 12+ only, beginners are welcome!

$28 per person/per session.  Registration required.

Insectropolis Art Show-

        Show us your ARThropod


Insectropolis announces a call to artists to "Show us your Arthropod!" for an art exhibition.  Accepted entries will be showcased in the BUGS Art Show Exhibit on display March 1- Sept 15, 2018. Free to enter. Open to U.S. resident artists at least 18 years old. 2D Work must be no more than 6' in any direction including the framing or mounting. 3D work must be no larger than 18'' x 32" x 10"; no freestanding sculptures. 


The theme is art inspired by or including an insect or arthropod. This bug theme can be expressed many ways and we look forward to seeing your interpretation. Entries must be original, child friendly, no nudity or violence. 


All media is welcome including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings, sculpture in any medium, collage, printmaking, photography and digital media. All work must be suitably framed, wired and ready for hanging. Works on paper must be framed under plexiglass or glass. Maximum weight of sculpture: 10 pounds. Wall mounted monitors must be provided for videos. Up to 3 entries per artist. Exhibit space is limited so not all work may be accepted into show.
